The Ideas Partnership was established in 2009 by British couple Elizabeth Gowing and Robert Wilton and their Kosovan friend, Ardian Arifaj. The charity is without religious or party affiliation and work mainly on education and particularly with the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian community of Kosovo. The Ideas Partnership is active with Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in four municipalities – Obilic, Fushe Kosove, Lipjan (the town of Janjevo/a) and Istog with an office in Prishtina. The project in Fushe Kosove has been established for longest and is the most holistic. The Ideas Partnership is the third largest volunteer organization in Kosovo, with approximately 150 volunteers. Of these approximately a third are from the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian community, a third are Kosovo Albanians and a third are foreigners. The NGO has an all-local staff of whom half are from minority communities.
